Veterans Disability Claims for Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)

Veterans who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may experience residuals of traumatic brain injury (TBI) due to the common use of roadside improvised explosive devices and the resulting blasts. Our veterans who suffer with the physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects of TBI may also show evidence of posttraumatic stress disorder or depression. Recognizing the significant increase of this service-connected disability, the VA revised the rating criteria for brain trauma in January, 2008, which became effective October 23, 2008.

Veterans filing for compensation for service connected disability directly related to TBI are eligible to also file for any mental condition such as PTSD or depression.

If you believe that you may have a claim, or previously filed a claim and were denied, the Law Office of Sonya L. Pence stands ready and prepared to assist you and your family to receive the disability benefits you rightly deserve.
